The mission of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC©) is to promote environmentally sound, socially beneficial and economically prosperous management of the world's forests. Through their responsible principles and certifications, the FSC© is carrying out their vision of meeting the world's needs for forest products without compromising the health of the world’s forests for future generations.
How does this help you may ask?
Simply put, all the wood that Gus* uses for sectionals, sofas, and upholstered chairs is FSC©-certified, meaning it is sourced from responsibly managed forests that take the environment, as well as the social and cultural effects of using it, seriously.

GUS* USES PET FILLING: THE NEW AND IMPROVED DOWN
Whenever possible, Gus* utilizes a synthetic material similar to down made from recycled PET, which is composed post-consumer waste, AKA all of those plastic water bottles and containers the world has been recycling for years,
Not only that, but PET Fill has been thoroughly tested as fiber fill and the results are promising! Not only does it hold its form better than down, but it’s hypoallergenic, and of course, its use helps prevent plastic from continuing to pile in landfills.

Members of the Sustainable Furnishings Council like Gus* take immediate steps to minimize carbon emissions, waste stream pollutants, un-recyclable content and primary materials from unsustainable sources.
